This book is in very good condition. There is minimal to no wear on the front, back and spine of the cover boards. There is no wear on the edges and some slight bumping on the top of the spine corners.The previous owners name is written on the inside of the front cover board and his stamp is affixed ro the front end page. Thomas and Ezra Stiles Ely from 1833-1835 debating the doctrine of eternal punishment, which incited widespread controversy at the time. The letters of Doctor Ely originally appeared in The Philadelphian, those of Thomas in The Messenger and Universalist, except the concluding seven epistles, which were published here for the first time.
