[10], xi-xiv, [2], 1-428, [4]; [7], viii-xiii, [6], 4-512; [7], viii-xvi, [5], 4-537, [3] pp. Royal blue cloth with silver and black lettering on the front board and spine, spine with blue lettering as well, volume one has a pasted-on decoration of a portrait of Freud as a young man on the front board; tan topstains. Grey endpapers and pastedowns. Price of $6.75 on the front flap of volume one's dust jacket; price of $7.50 on the front flap of volume three's jacket. Volume one illustrated with four plates and two full-page illustrations; volume two illustrated with a frontispiece and seven plates; volume three illustrated with a frontispiece and five plates. Difficult to find in the first edition, Jones' biography of Freud is a celebration of his life and legacy. Jones was close to Freud for decades, and worked with the family to publish this definitive biography of the highly-influential psycho-analyst. Volume one's jacket has a few traces of edge wear on its spine panel, volume two's jacket is price-clipped with minor toning. All else is Near Fine.
