Light crease to spine head. The textblock is clean with no writing, bookplate, or markings and not BCE, ex-library, or remaindered. The dust jacket is unclipped ($3.00) with faint shelf wear. Protected in a new Brodart Mylar cover. 110 pages. 5½ x 8" tall. Finalist for the 1961 National Book Award.
Margaret Johnson, an American, is traveling throughout Europe with her beautiful daughter, Clara. In Florence, Clara meets a young Italian and they fall in love, which causes a deep conflict in the moral dilemma it presents.
