New York: Grosset & Dunlap. Good with no dust jacket. 1934. Hardcover. This is the first volume in The Dana Girls Mystery Series. It is a later reprint and lists books up to The Mystery of the Bamboo Bird. The former owner wrote her name inside the left side of the first free end paper. On the half-title page is a book stamp that is round, and the words that went around it are blacked out. Inside the cover there is an illustrtion in green and white on both the front and back; on the front top corners thee is a darkened area where a price stamp may have been, and some residual paper from that label. The book has a few small spots on the horizontal pages that can be seen when the book is held together. The cover is pictorial, showing two girls in the woods with a flashlight, in dark green. There is light wear at the top spine and a 1/4" tear. The pages are fine, the frontispiece is intact. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. .
