First edition, in original slipcase, signed by Sandburg, number 1208 of 2425 copies. The story of the remarkable collection of Oliver Barrett, a Chicago attorney who started collecting as a child. For more than 50 years, Oliver Barrett, in his hometown of Pittsfield, Illinois, collected Lincoln letters, documents, relics and related source materials. It was Barrett's collection that Sandburg used to author his Pulitzer Prize-winning biography of Lincoln.
