About This Item
1888. An overview of the early days of Lincoln County and Casey County in Kentucky, and biographies of some of their prominent residents from the late 1800s, are combined with a brief history of the state in this new 37-page book. This spiral-bound book includes biographies from the book, Kentucky: A History of the State by J.H. Battle, W.H. Perrin and G.C. Kniffin (various volumns originally printed between 1885 and 1888); excerpts from Kentucky, a Guide to the Bluegrass State, a 1939 product of the WPA Writer's Program; and information from various internet sources. The tri-color front cover is printed on 80# card stock and has been protected with a vinyl sheet. The text is printed on 60# opaque 8.5" x 11" paper. The individual biographies provide fairly detailed genealogical data. In addition they often shed light on the area and the times, particularly the Civil War era.
