About This Item

Knopf, New York, 2002. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good+ Condition/Very Good+. From the front flap: "Lincoln, Miller says, was a great man who was also a good man. It is the central thrust of this 'ethical biography' to reveal how he became both, to trace his moral and intellectual development in the context of his times and in confrontation with the leading issues of the day--most notably, of course, that of slavery." Size: About 10" - Small Quarto (Sm. 4to). 515 pages. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Quarter bound in brown textured paper with bright gilt title on spine and ivory patterned paper over boards. Corners are sharp. Minimal shelf wear at foot of spine. Unclipped ($30.00) Dust Jacket is in very good condition, without tears or chips. The only defect is that someone has blacked out something under the price with a felt marker and there is a corresponding ghost of the blackened area on the front free end paper. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Biography & Autobiography; American Presidents - Abraham Lincoln; Ethical aspects; United States; Modern; Politics & Government.
