Tall quarto, revised edition, unpaginated, printed boards, original printed parchment jacket, duotone and color photos. This was first published in 1972 in a Japanese volume that became scarce and very expensive. The American paperback, also released in 1972, was much reduced in size, and the present volume was expanded and supplemented with later photos, including color, despite Frank's earlier remark that "black and white are the colours of photography (Parr & Badger, V.1, p. 238)." "In many ways The Lines of My Hand can be regarded as the apotheosis of stream-of-consciousness photography," Parr & Badger wrote. Also see The Open Book, Hasselblad Center, pp. 288-89, and Auer p. 544. Condition of this book: Minor soiling at edges, with remainder mark at bottom edge. Parchment jacket has short tears at edges. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
