The list includes several African-Americans who were known with the first name negro. On the other hand, Joseph Reed is listed only as "colored". Bookplate of John Carter Brown Woods who was on the board of Brown University. Bound in red cloth, spine lettering gilt but dull, corners lightly bumped, some light finger soiling. A very good copy of this very scarce work original edition.
