Octavo (22.25cm); black cloth, with titles stamped in silver on spine; dustjacket; xvi,[2],3-464pp. Light wear along the lower board edges, else a fresh, very Near Fine copy. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $6.00), lightly edgeworn, gently sunned at spine and front panel extremities, with a few tiny tears and creases; Very Good+, much better than usually found. A substantial collection of Pounds essays and literary criticism, covering three decades. According to Gallup, Faber & Faber printed 5,000 sets of sheets for New Directions; 2,000 of them were bound in 1954, 1,000 in 1956, another 1,000 in 1961, and the remaining 748 copies in 1966. Edited by T.S. Eliot, who has provided a 7pp introduction. GALLUP A67b; GALLUP B72b.
