Little America - signed by Byrd and several membes of the expedition by Richard Evelyn Byrd - 1930

Hardcover, stated first edition uniquely signed by Admiral Byrd along with three members of his early expeditions. The additional signatures and inscriptions are as follows: "C. E. Lofgren, Personnel Officer", "Best Wishes, John Buys. Byrd, Exp. 192?, Seaman 1930", "Chas. L. Kessler, Byrd Expedition 1926-28-30. Seaman + Dog driver". Byrd's signature appears on the portrait frontispiece and all the other signatures are on the dedication page. The blue cloth boards are bright but the front has some scuff marks located near the lower right corner. The exterior also has some light bumps and scrapes but corners are good. Interior binding of the text pages is tight. No cracks at boards though the front hinge does have a few small holes in the front end page has a few white marks as well, likely caused by insects. Stated first edition on the copyright page along with a publication date of Autumn, 1930. No other handwriting found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings. The two foldout maps at page 416 are present and are in good shape. This is a unique signed copy and not one of the numbered editions that are commonly available.
