Quarter navy cloth over pictorial boards printed in navy, green, brown, and white. The illustrations on the boards mimic the dust jacket's illustrations. Illustrated black and white endpapers and pastedowns. Price of 2.50 on the front flap of the dust jacket. A collector has affixed a Caldecott Medal sticker on the front panel. Illustrated title page, several full-page illustrations in color. Baumgarten 138. Signed without personalization on the verso of the free front endpaper by Leonard Weisgard. The charming story of a little black kitten who sails to the magical, sentient Little Island. The kitten learns what it is to be an independent individual and what it is to be part of a community. A small inscription on the recto and verso of the free front endpaper, very light rubbing to the boards' edges; jacket with a few small chips and tears.
