About This Item

Although almost every city has long-standing traditions, nothing compares to the Mummers' Parade. Dating back more than 100 years, this New Year's Day celebration has become a city staple. The tale's protagonist, Little Maxie, attends his first parade with his mother and older brother and becomes entranced by the costumes and routines. While performing, members from different organizations approach him with balloons and start spinning to get him involved and laughing. When Maxie drifts off to a dreamland during the parade, he perfects his own moves and becomes the littlest Mummer with the help of some veteran friends.
