Navy blue coloured boards with self embossed publisher's logo to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Dark blue coloured tint to the top textblock edge. Plain text dustwrapper with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. The dustwrapper is as issued  half size. Volume 2:  [5], VI, [1], 2 - 493, [1] pages. Navy blue cloth covered boards with self embossed decoration and publisher's logo to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Blue coloured tuned to the top textblock edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. The 18th-century writer Samuel Johnson's critique on English poets. A small potted history of the poet's life and then their work. The World's Classics  Series  83 & 84. Rubbing of the backstrip edges with a little softening of the lower backstrip edge. Age toning of the textblock edges and pages. Rubbing of the book panels and age toning of the text block edges. Previous owner's ex libris plate affixed to the free front end page and name to the top edge of the same page. The dustwrapper is in component parts  please see photograph. Rubbing of book edges, and some age toning of the text block edges. Previous owner's ex libris plate affixed to the free front end page and name to the top edge of the same page. Original bookseller's rubber stamp to the same page  lower edge. Some creasing of the dustwrapper edges and rubbing of the panels. A of foxing to the rear fold over panel.
