About This Item
New York: Macmillan Company 1936. (Hardcover) 176pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Dark blue cloth with gilt lettering to the cover and spine. Frontispiece, 56 black and white plates. Rear inner hinge is cracked. "There are libraries of London books, but this is the one London book illustrated by Mr. Pennell. That is its reason and its justification. I have been much in the position of the dramatist hired to write a play round a poste, but, with a proper modesty, I have realised that the poster is too much for me". Illustrations by Joseph Pennell. Locale: England; London--England. (Travel, Cities, Travel and Adventure).
