London: Chatto & Windus Four volumes of Walter Besant's works on London, published in 1900, 1901, 1902, & 1903. Each volume in a deluxe binding with red polished leather over spine and corners, and marbled paper over boards. Slightly raised spine bands create six compartments on each spine, with a brown spine label and gilt stamped lettering. A gilt stamped floral device is seen in each of the other five compartments. Marbled edges of text and marbled end leaves. Numerous illustrations. Covers show light rubbing, and there is a little very light foxing seen on first and last few leaves. A small inked institutional name is seen on the blank front fly leaf of each volume, though there are NO other markings. Volumes remain tight and are otherwise very clean and attractive. . New Edition. Half Leather. Very Good+/No Dust Jacket.
