About This Item

This is a first edition of The Long Left Flank: The Hard Fought Way to the Reich, 1944-1945, by the Canadian Army officer and military historian Jeffery Williams (1920-2011).

It is the story of the battle to clear the Channel coast and open the port of Antwerp. The struggle, which saw appalling casualties, is not well-known because the battle of Normandy was going on at the same time. Loss would have been a disaster; its result was victory in the Rhineland.

348 pages, with strategic plans, maps and photographs.

This book is in near-mint condition. It has half a dozen fingerprints and 2 dogears. Otherwise, perfect.
