London & New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons Ltd, 1932. Gilbert first collected his early verses in 1868 (and more completely in 1898), but the collections did not contain all, and many more have come to light. Here is a collection of thirty-three light verses, a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First [Trade] Edition [stated "First Published September, 1932" and "Of this First Edition a limited number of copies are issued with hand-coloured illustrations"]. Green textured cloth binding with titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 127 pages of a stiff card stock. Index of first lines and list of titles. Hints of rub only to the bottom margins; some tiny, faint marks to the front cover. Spotting to the page ends and occasionally throughout. No dustwrapper; in an archival plastic protector.. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. Illus. by Townley Searle. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
