New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1923. Hardcover. Paper split to rear hinge, slightly to front, covers tight and firm; rubbing to boards with faint stain to spine. About Very Good in a Fair slipcase with the bottom edge missing and the top edge mostly detached. Cloth-backed boards with printed spine label and an extra label tipped to rear pastedown, in slipcase apparently supplied from another copy as "5" is written on the backstrip. Copy "H" of only 20 copies (from a total edition of 220) SIGNED by the author on the limitation page.

Synopsis

Willa Cather's A Lost Lady was first published in 1923. It tells the story of Marian Forrester and her husband, Captain Daniel Forrester who live in the Western town of Sweet Water, along the Transcontinental Railroad.
