About This Item
New York: ReganBooks, 2001. First Edition. Third Printing. Hardcover. Very good/very good. 363 pages. Illus. (some in color), "autographed" sticker on front DJ. Signed by the author. In this autobiography, Kerik recounts his fascinating private and public life. He tells of his experiences as an undercover cop working out of the famous Midtown South Precinct and in the Bronx. He covers his years as corrections commissioner, the success of which led to the ultimate job offer from Mayor Giuliani--to be New York's 40th police commissioner. Kerik relates how he continued the successful campaign against crime, and discusses his role in helping the city respond to the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. On the personal side, Kerik candidly reveals his troubled youth and his search for his mother, who abandoned him as a child, and who, he discovered, was the victim of homicide.
