Love Letters is the first romance by American author, Elise Title. From San Francisco, Alexandra Yates has been writing to architect Greg Hollis in New York for nine years, but they have never met, feeling that this allows them to be much more frank in what their letters contain. But then Alex visits a friend in New York and accidentally meets Greg. Unwilling to break their pact, she gives a false name, and sets in motion a comedy of errors, each compounding the last, and making it increasingly difficult to extricate herself without hurting Greg. After all, he has fallen in love with this mysterious woman, even writing to his penpal Alex about her. This is a charming little romance, funny and moving, even if is it just a little slow-moving at times. The characters have some depth and plenty of appeal. It would make a great movie.
