About This Item

Manchester : T. A. & E. Pemberton, [ca.1948]. A fresh edition in the Pembertons' "Thrilling Love" series of a book which first appeared as a newspaper serial in 1909. "Mrs. Ponsonby emphasised the remark with a nod of her pretty grey head. A woman of fortune, of good birth, she was a despot in her particular circle, and, like most despots, continually broke her own rules". Crown 8vo (18cm). 128pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers; very slightly chipped at extremities; text lightly tanned, with a few spots; just a touch of rust to the staples, but overall a very good copy. No copy of this edition located in major libraries worldwide - and only a single example of each of two earlier editions (both British Library).
