The Saalfield Publishing Co. Good in Very Good- dust jacket. (1928). Reprint. Hardcover. No other printings noted. Pictorial boards. Illustrated endpapers. The corners are bumped; wear around the edges. There is a 1/2" piece missing from the upper spine. Wrinkles to the lower edge of the first few leaves. A few pages near the middle of the book have creases at the upper corner. The dust jacket has chips at the corners. Upper spine end has a 1/2" piece missing and the lower spine has 1/8" chipped away. There is a 1 1/2" tear to the upper spine/front panel fold. Creasing to the rear flap. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

Chicago: P F Volland. While exploring their grandmother's attic, Janey happily shows her brother a lovely doll tucked in among the old things, which had a pocketed apron containing a cardboard kitten and the initials "L.L." In this delightful, scarce book, we follow the adventures of the children at Merrywell Cottage & their dolls. Wonderfully illustrated in color, b&w by Rae who did many memorable books for Volland. The covers have pictorial paper-covering with a patterned-cloth spine, the edges & spine ends are rather rubbed, the page-signatures are a bit loosened and page 5 has a chip at the hinge & the last page was mended at the hinge w/acid-free document tape. The pages have some foxing here & there. Overall good copy of this scarce book. OUT OF PRINT. . Good. Hardcover. First Edition. First Printing. 1928.

Decorated boards soiled and shelfworn, with wear along edges and edge points bumped and worn to boards. The spine strip is quite worn and faded with some chipping and fraying to both ends. Internally illustrated end-pages age toned and soiled in places but free from previous owners marks or signatures. There are occasional smudges scattered throughout, but illustrations are still bright. The binding is tight with hinges intact.
