About This Item

(London, Michael Joseph, 1954). 8vo; original blue cloth, very slightly worn at head and tail of spine; pp. 204 plus glossary, endpaper maps, black-and-white photographic plates; some browning, especially to endpapers. Good condition. "This is the story of a 12,000 mile Safari for Two. I went with my wife, Pat, and she was always magnificent. It was Africa the hard way. There were no 'planes, trucks or White Hunters in our Safari. We travelled alone, in a light car, and drove wherever we could. When we couldn't drive, we walked and climbed. And when we got into trouble we had to help ourselves." .
