Very fine in very fine dust jacket. Legendary Poet, Artist and Punk Rock Icon. Inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2007. Smith was Robert Mapplethorpe's roommate. She befriended Writers Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, had an affair and co-wrote a play with Sam Shepard. She contributed to albums by Door's Keyboardist Ray Manzarek and Blue Oyster Cult, before forming her own band. The Patti Smith Group was one of the earliest Punk Rock groups and was a huge influence of countless later acts. Her first memoir, Just Kids, won the 2010 National Book Award.
Synopsis
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee presents reflections on her inner life from the unique perspectives of the cafés and cultural haunts she has visited and worked in around the world.
