Macmillan, 1896-01-01. Hardcover. Good. 0x0x0. Hardcover, no jacket, 1896. Cloth binding. with gilt titles and decorations. Top edge gilt. Complete with all illustrations (no map in this edition). From the library of Nobel-winning physicist Murray Gell-Mann, with his bookplate on front endpaper. Another, earlier bookplate (of the Percival J. G. Bishop Collection) on the pastedown. Gilt titles on front still quite bright. Spine faded some but still legible, slightly cocked. Pages have no marks or writing. Some heavy foxing (brown spotting) to first few & last few pages, and along the page edges. Slight water damage throughout book. Front hinge weak; otherwise, binding still strong. Photos available.
