Gray cloth boards and spine with bright green lettering on the spine and front board. 128 pp 8vo. de Maupassant (1850-1893) had a genius for the short story and centered it on Paris, the meeting place of the aristocracy, the bourgeoisie, and the intriguing demi-monde. He was a realist and his stories teemed with action, with the dramatic and telling moments in the history of an individual in the forefront. A well selected repast of his best short stories. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
