About This Item
Nagoya, Japan: Tonda Yaroh, 1958-9. Two issues of this monthly socialist-pacifist newsletter, together with a mimeographed prospectus in English. Includes issue nos. 37 (Fall 1958) and 38 (Winter 1958-9). Each issue on a single sheet of newsprint, 44cm x 32cm, folded to make eight pages. Prospectus on a single sheet, 36cm x 27cm, printed recto-only. Newletters toned (but not brittle); prospectus with old fold-lines, else fine, hand-signed "Tonda" in pencil beside red-ink chop. Included is a hand-addressed envelope to the Editors of "Proletarian News," Chicago. Newsletters entirely in Japanese, save for running title in English in upper margin. Prospectus, seeking international distributors, in English. The prospectus states that "...we make up our mind [sic] to begin publication of a new information bulletin. This new information bulletin has an aim to let you know of the views and activities of many small groups within the Japanese labour, peasants, students and peace movements...written mainly in English." Rare post-war Japanese Left publication; not noted in OCLC (nor do we find any catalogued reference to the editor, Tonda Yaroh).
