Milwaukee: The Young Churchman Company Book. Good. Hardcover. 1912, 303pp, index, illustrated. TEG. Light wear, else G+. Gilbert, of the Protestant Episcopal faith, was born in Morris, New York, March 23, 1848. Because of health problems he was forced to curtail his education and spent two years in Florida attempting to recuperate from pulmonary problems. He worked in Minnesota and Montana for a number of years, and in 1881 was called to the rectorship of Christ Church in St. Paul. He also established missions in White Bear, Fort Snelling, Merriam Park, and Randolph Street. He was deputy to the general convention in 1886 and elected assistant bishop of Minnesota the same year. He died in 1900..
