About This Item

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1912. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. octavo; pp. 183; blue cloth lettered in white; spine lettering faded out, edge wear;. Theodore Roosevelt provides a 34pp. Introduction to this work. Not surprising as the book was published in 1912, the year of the Progressive Party's Bull Moose Campaign. TR was villified by his former Republican colleagues over his position on the Courts; "The Progressive Party demands such restriction of the power of the courts as shall leave to the people the ultimate authority to determine fundamental questions of social welfare and public policy". Progressive Party Platform. An important addition to a TR collection. Scarce.
