Flat signed by author to half title page. Illustrated by C. Walter Hodges. Decorated end papers. Colour frontispiece. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Moderate foxing to top text block edge. Binding remains firm. Minor bubbling to rear pastedown. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Slight sunning to spine head and tail, also to bottom edge of front board. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Ghosting of cover image to front board cloth. Unclipped jacket , priced 8s 6d, has moderate edge-wear with chips, tears and creasing. Moderate sunning to spine. Slight loss to head and tail of spine. Moderate tanning to spine.
