This is the second work in Oliphant's series regarding various cities and the people who made them famous. Illustrated with a frontispiece, twenty five plates, and vignette illustrations by R. R. Holmes. Collated, complete.In a full calf signed binding by Bickers.With the armorial bookplate of Sir Timothy Calvert Eden - brother of British Prime Minister Anthony Eden - to the front pastedown. With an inscription addressed to Eden to a front blank, remarking on his 'distinction in trials', from 'E.L.C.'. In a full calf signed binding.
