First edition hardcover, with dust jacket, published by Bobbs- Merrill, 1934. Rabbi Steinberg, of the Park Avenue Synagogue, here provides both a history of the Jews and explains the views of the Assimilationist, Anti-Assimilationist, Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, and Zionist. 317 pages, 5-7/8" X8-1/4". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. The original price of $2.50 is printed on the bottom corner of the front flap. The jacket has a couple of large chips at the top front edge, smaller chip at the bottom left front corner, and small chips on the back panel as well. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Bright green cloth covered cover boards, with the author and title imprinted on the spine and front cover. All lettering and design elements on the spine and front cover are intact and legible. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Age appropriate age tanning to the text pages. Edges of the text block are clean considering the age of the book. This is not a library discard copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
