Straight, tight and clean, topstain faded with a few lighter spots, slight spine-end bumps. Dustjacket unclipped bearing original price, light edge bumps, touch of dampstain to head and heel of spine, in new Brodart sleeve. The affectionate memoir of a general practitioner in the Hell's Kitchen section of New York from 1934 to 1968 and his personal experiences in treating the theater people, mobsters, boxers, eccentrics, and New and Old World families who lived there.
