Was a Special Prize for the Annual Essay Prize Distribution held at the Crystal Palace in 1912. Prize plate glued to front endpaper. Notable tanning to pages throughout. Rear endpaper stuck to paste down. Some gutter cracking. Moderate wear, rubbing and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with small splits to spine ends. Notable sunning to spine, with scuffing and soiling across the boards. Small area of peeling leather to middle of spine.
Synopsis
Mansfield Park is a novel by Jane Austen, written at Chawton Cottage between 1812 and 1814. It was published in July 1814 by Thomas Egerton, who published Jane Austen's two earlier novels, Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. When the novel reached a second edition, its publication was taken over by John Murray, who also published its successor, Emma.
