About This Item
Hilliard, Gray, and Company, 1840. 2nd Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Blue leather spine & corners over marbled-paper covered boards, all edges gilt, engravings of birds above some descriptions, 7-3/8" x 5", 832 pp. Binding and endpapers are newer, probably late 20th century. A handsome copy, very solid, no foxing of note; a few gatherings a little proud probably from original binding, but now a neat, solid copy of this important work of natural history. Nuttall came to the West/Northwest with John Townsend in 1834.
