About This Item

Hardcover. Neatly hand-written, with some diagrams, in red and blue ink, on lined paper, with some stamps of the Orderly Room Hythe; 105pp. Large 8vo orig. cloth-backed boards, worn, The School of Musketry was formed at Hythe in 1853 and produced some of the Army's best marksmen as well as instructors who were sent to different regiments. This is a good record of a detailed course. The recruit could have been destined for the Western front as a sniper. Presumably the stamps were to endorse that the notes were correctly recorded.
