About This Item

London: Intelligence Branch, War Office, 1885. No Binding. Very Good. Coloured lithograph on linen, approx 26 1/2 x 37 1/4 inches (67 x 95 cm), has been folded into eighteen, some staining to the reverse on one section which doesn't impinge on the main part of the map, otherwise bright, crisp and clean. Contains inset of 'Khartum and Environs'; originally issued in September 1884, this revised version was produced in February 1885, just after the death of General Gordon in Khartoum. Rare.
