About This Item

Removed, engraved map, black and white, 12" x 9 1/2", title cartouche. Normal aging and browning, some chips at the edge of left margin; otherwise clean and crisp. Very good overall.  This map was taken from Jonas Hanway's (1712-1786) Historic Account of British Trade over the Caspian Sea, which was published in London in 1753. The map appears to part of the Russian frontiers, and was probably lifted from Russian sources.
