Boards rubbed and edge worn with some spots of scuffing and faint soiling. Beginning to fray at head/heel of spine. Deckle edges with many pages still uncut. Faint toning from age. Binding sound. 349 pages. 22 black and white plates. Whitman was a prominent physician and missionary in Oregon and Washington, and Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington is his namesake.
