About This Item
Typed letter signed by Margaret Sanger to Ruth Albert, dated March 9, 1931. 1 page, 8.5 x 11 in. Boldly signed "Margaret." On letterhead for the Committee on Federal Legislation, an organization headed by Sanger, which advocated for federal regulation of birth control laws and regulations. Two horizontal fold lines and one vertical crease. Very light toning along verso left edge and light soiling along verso creases. Overall excellent condition.
Sanger writes to "Beloved Ruth," thanking her for sending silver tongs, which she describes as being "so graceful and strong." Ruth Albert worked with Sanger as the circulation manager of "The Birth Control Review," a magazine headed by Sanger from 1917 to 1928. A lovely letter which captures the warmth and friendship between two women who worked together to fight for family planning and birth control access.
