New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1895. First printing (same date on TP and CP). One of the publisher's "Women of Colonial and Revolutionalry Times" series. Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering. Top edge gilt. Fore and bottom edges untrimmed. 341 pp. plus a facsimile reproduction of a letter from Margaret Winthrop to her husband. Softened spine ends. Spine very slightly faded. Gift inscription pencilled on the front free endpaper. Rear hinge cracked. Otherwise unmarked and in a tight binding.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
