Exceptionally clean & bright copy of this lovely edition containing 376 nursery & Mother Goose rhymes for children, brought to life with over 260 watercolor illustrations by the author on every page . Orig. published in 1953/54, this is a later printing (25th) from c. 1980, with ISBN & gift inscription dated 1988 to ffep; else unmarked. Oversized hardcover 4to (9" x 12.25") is in Near Fine condition: completely clean save for that inscription, binding straight & strong, colors vivid. Very mild rubbing to extremities. The price-clipped DJ is VG+, downgraded due to a few very small chips to top edge of front cover, corners, & both ends of spine; NO fading or wear, beautifully protected in new clear mylar cover for years of reading pleasure!
