Harrap,, [1963]. 2 vols., 8vo., with 2 portrait frontispieces, 14 facsimiles and 196 maps and plans (a number double-page) in the text; original maroon buckram, upper boards with Marlborough arms blocked in gilt, gilt backs, maroon tops, very lightly rubbed at extemities else a very good, bright, clean copy. This first two-volume edition is an entirely new setting (not merely a rearrangement) of the original four-volume edition of 1933-34. It is unabridged and retains all the maps and plans of the first edition, but the illustrations are reduced to the two frontispieces. First published in this format in 1947. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
