This prose romance, originally printed about 1518-19, and reproduced here from the unique copy in the Huntington Library, is the only version in English, and t he only extant version in prose, of a well-known legend, a sort of female Faustus who sells her soul for the freedom to indulge the lusts of the flesh. Introduction by Harry Morgan Ayres and Adriaan Jacob Barnouw. Particularly handsomely bound volume in brown, with blind-stamped to front and rear panels, sharp and distinct gilt lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn, protected by a plastic coat, machine- but not price-clipped. 5 pp. then several score unpaginated pages of duotone reproduction, in facsimile format, of the entirety of the original edition.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
