About This Item

Ithaca, NY, U.S.A.: Cornell University Press, 1974. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. This book is a study of the revolution of 1689 in Maryland, when a small group of agitators raised a militia and seized the proprietary government, which led to the replacement of the Catholic proprietor by the Anglican crown; the authors challenge the traditional explanations of the revolution that stress Catholic-Protestant discord, and provide a socio-political interpretation of the revolution based on detailed biographies of members of both factions (light gray cloth with black lettering; dust jacket has slight edgewear, with a few tiny edge tears; otherwise a good, clean, tight copy)
