About This Item

HALE, 1959-01-01. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good +/Very Good. Hardcover, First Edition 1959 Robert Hale London 189 pages. Very Good+, in a VG DJ. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to maroon cloth boards with gilt titles-corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear and a bit of chipping and light soiling to unclipped DJ-now in mylar. (NOTE: my DJ is a creme color with a red illustration and red and black titles --not a blueish tone like the picture). Previous owner name on inside front cover, no notes-all pages are bright, clean and crisp. Author's observations of Siam in the 1950's include poking around the back streets of Bangkok, visiting an opium den and exploring the jungle where he stays with a primitive tribe of hill people and is nearly killed by wild elephants. 13 illustrations plus map.
