(Paris): Olivier Perrin, (1965).. (1965).. Fair. - Small quarto [approximately 8-1/2 inches high by 7-3/4 inches wide], pictorial paper covered boards. The binding is rubbed & bumped. There is a large piece out of the head of the spine & a tear to the tail. The joints are worn & chipped. 98 & [4] pages plus colophon. Profuse black-and-white photographic illustrations by Georges Pierre. The book is cracked at page 6 and there is a small area of rubbing to the front endpaper. Fair. <p>"Masques exposes dans l'Annexe du musee Guimet en decembre 1959, avec la collaboration de la section des Sciences religieuses de l'Ecole pratique des Hautes Etudes et son Centre documentaire d'Histoire des Religions. Les commentaires accompagnant les photographies ont ete empruntes au catalogue de l'exposition qui a ete realisee avec le concours de la Reunion des Musees Nationnaux par Henriette Demoulin-Bernard".<p>The masks discussed here were exhibited at the musee Guimet in 1959. The explanatory captions to the photographs are by Henriette Demoulin-Bernard and are taken from the catalog for that exhibition. The preface is by Roger Caillois.<p>The text is in French.
