Small 4to; 301pp; green cloth over board, blind-stamped border and label, gilt-stamped lettering on front and spine; author's signature and date "Oct. 9, 1924" on ffep; photographic illustrations throughout; small b&w sketches; binding tight as if unread; unclipped pictorial dust jacket, no price on jacket, small chips at flap fold and light damp stain; fine in near fine dj. A bright clean copy of this wonderful photographic tour around the state of Massachusetts. Wallace Nutting (1861-1941) was a New England Congregational minister and noted photographer and artist. He bicycled for his health and it was on these rides that he embarked on his lifelong quest to photograph his magnificent and historic New England surroundings. Massachusetts Beautiful is a print and photographic love affair with the state.
