Light shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book; the jacket is in pieces with a bit more than half the spine missing. Twelfth printing. The author, originally an Anglican priest, became attracted to the esoteric. He was a member of the Theosophical Society, Co-Freemasonry, author on occult subjects and co-initiator with J. I. Wedgwood of the Liberal Catholic Church. After joining the Theosophical Society he met and became a pupil of it's co-founder Madame Blavatsky. After her death he remained a close associate of Annie Besant, it's new co-president in London. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Madras, India: Theosophical Publishing House, 1975 Centenary printing, and according to the publisher somewhat abridged. 322 pages. Dj has damp stains and foxing, visible mostly from the back. Dj has several edge tears, one a three-way 2 inch tear. Book is near perfect, clean bright and tight with very light foxing on the back endpaper. Paper stock is somewhat gray. Color 3 leaf, two fold fold-out illustration in the front.. 11th Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Fair+. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
